Welcoming Hillfarrance and Icehouse Ventures onboard the Mobli Journey! ๐๐๐

Today we are delighted to announce that we have closed our oversubscribed $2.7m Seed Round led by Rob Vickery and the wider Hillfarrence community, followed by investment from Icehouse Ventures and Angel Investors Marlborough.
Managing partner Rob said โTransport and its management is fundamental to the human experience. Itโs also a source of enormous inefficiency โ and thatโs at the very heart of what Mobli does. It brings visibility, management, costing and control to every form of mobility, from walking to bicycles, e-scooters, ride sharing, public transport, private vehicles, fleet cars, trucks and anything else that moves. Itโs a platform which goes beyond what transport looks like today and seeks to shape how we move in the future.โ
He adds that while Mobli can help manage every mode of transport, vehicles and other forms of transport arenโt the main focus.
โInstead of looking at transport, it looks at the person and helps them decide how to get from A to B while taking into account cost, environmental impact, time and available modes.โ
Since these are challenges every person faces every day, Vickery says the company has โA big, audacious vision of an efficiency revolution in how we move.โ
Robโs investorโs notes can be read here.
Founder Martin McMullan said โI am very grateful for the founder-first approach taken by Rob and the wider team. They really took the time to listen, understand and support me when needed during the process. Itโs something I found very humbling and it made the decision to partner with Rob and the team very easy.
I am very grateful to have both Hillfarrance and Icehouse as early investors as we continue to bring open mobility solutions to transport and mobility companies across four continents.
I would also like to thank those who have supported both me and the business over the last year during tough times due to the impact COVID-19 had on bringing people and transport to a standstill. Now, as the world opens back up we must do all we can to drive a modal shift and get more people out of cars by offering other options that enable better access, sustainability and improve the urban or rural environments we live, play and work in.
We will use this capital to continue to do this and grow across our key international markets whilst delivering and supporting our customers from here in Aotearoa.
Our first move to signal our intent is the hiring of Mieszko Iwaskow from Auckland Transport who brings a wealth of experience in Strategy, Transport Planning, Delivery and Change Management. Mieszko will be coming in as our Chief Strategy Officer. Over the coming months, we will also recruit in key roles across Sales, Marketing, Business Development, HR, QA and Product Management. If you are passionate about urgently changing the way people move whilst doing good in the community, get in touch and join us.
As part of our commitment to providing access, we will be creating a scheme to fully cover the cost of public transport for people who need it most here in Tamaki Makaurau. We will share more on this over the coming months as we work through this with our partners.
None of this would be possible without the hard work of our people and I would like to thank them for their determination, skills and rapid delivery of solutions to our customers.
Finally, a huge thanks to our early customers who believe and support us as we established ourselves. None of this would have been possible without your support and we look forward to continuing to support you as we grow.โ
