Mobli celebrates appointment of new board chair

We’re rounding out our announcements for the year with the introduction of professional director Mark Gilbert, who joined Mobli as board chair in October. Mark’s deep experience in the automotive, transport, and clean energy industries will be a welcome addition to the board, and his leadership will put Mobli in excellent stead as we expand our horizons in 2022.
“Mobli, as a company, and its people, are using technology to bring about seismic change to mobility as we know it. The world keeps talking about zero emissions by 2050, but not a lot seems to change. The applications Mobli is working on will bring about the change needed to decarbonise transport, optimise journeys and patronage and encourage the uptake of more e-mobility solutions,” said Mark.
Mark also chairs Transport Minister Michael Wood’s 'Clean Car Sector Leadership Group’, Auto Stewardship New Zealand Trust (a Product Stewardship Organisation), Bragato Research Institute and Drive Electric NZ; as well as being an independent director of PlantTech Research Institute, and Evnex, a leading manufacturer and installer of smart electric vehicle chargers. He is a former director of Auckland Transport, as well as former managing director of BMW Group New Zealand.
“We’re excited that Mark has joined us on this journey, and look forward to his leadership and wise counsel as we grow to meet the challenge of making mobility more sustainable, accessible, fun, and eventually free,” said Mobli Founder and CEO, Martin McMullan.
Mark lives in Auckland with his wife Angie, and is kept busy with three young grandchildren, and a number of interesting governance roles.
